Results – Race 1 – Gravelly Beach – Ultrain Winter Trail Series 2018

The Winter Trail Series for 2018 kicked off on Saturday 26th May with a small but enthusiastic group taking on the flowing 10km trail at Gravelly Beach.

Nick Vincour took out first place for the guys with a zippy time of 37.57.9, with Bronty Halley bringing it home for the ladies in a time of 46:19.6.

Well done to all who ran, and a reminder that entries are now open for Race 2 of the Winter Trail Series, which will be held at Trevallyn on Sunday, June 17th at 1PM.  See you there!

 

 

Results – Summer Trail Series Race 3 – Trevallyn Reserve

Heavy skies and the threat of rain couldn’t dampen spirits for Race 3 of the Ultrain Summer Trail Series.

Unseasonably cool temperatures and a tacky track greeted over 40 runners as they attacked the rocky and technical Trevallyn course.

First place in the Mens was taken out by Ewen Troughton with a time of 41:27.7, and in the Womens by Melissa Clark with a time of 48:26.9.

Results – Summer Trail Series Race 2 – Greens Beach

The sun was out and the racing was hot for Race 2 of the Ultrain Summer Trail Series!

A glorious day awaited the nearly 70 competitors who lined up on Greens Beach to test themselves on the 12km of tight, undulating and at times rather muddy (!) single track

First place in the Mens was taken out by Peter Johnson with a time of 50:52.7, and in the Womens by Melissa Clark with a time of 59:51.9.

Wow – what a cracker of a morning for our first run in the series!

Over 50 keen competitors were greeted with perfect weather for running and a bone-dry course around the wonderful Kate Reed Recreation Area.

First place in the Mens was taken out by Ewan Troughton with a very speedy time of 43:12.1, and in the Womens by Carolyn Farrer with a time of 55:48.8. All competitor times can be viewed here.

Entries are now open for Race 3 of the Ultrain Trail Series for the 2016-2017 Season!

Race 3  will be held at the Hoo Hoo Hut, Trevallyn Reserve on the 19th February 2017 at 9:00AM sharp. Race brief will be at 8:45AM and we strongly advise participants to arrive another 15-30 minutes or so earlier to organise race bibs and warm up.

The course will be approximately 10KM in length, following a loop around the Trevallyn Reserve recreational area. The track surface encompasses a range of surfaces, from gravel and hardpack dirt singletrack to rock and rutted fire trail. The course constantly undulates with a number of substantial hills to test the test the legs of novice and experienced trail runners alike!

As with all Ultrain events, the focus is on enjoying our local trails and having fun. Refreshments will be provided after the race, and is included in the entry fee of $30.

Race 2  will be held at the Greens Beach Recreational Area, across the road from the Greens Beach Store, on the 22nd of January 2017 at 9:00AM sharp. Race brief will be at 8:45AM and we strongly advise participants to arrive another 15-30 minutes or so earlier to organise race bibs and warm up.

The course will be approximately 12KM in length, running out and back along the West Head coastal track. The track is a mix of gravel and hard-pack dirt and is very accessible to novice trail runners, with a few short hill sections and steps to test your fitness!  This course will be a great introduction for those new to trail running, so why not bring along a friend, colleague or family member who’s always wanted to have a go.

As with all Ultrain events, the focus is on enjoying our local trails and having fun. Refreshments will be provided after the race, and is included in the entry fee of $30.
